Tuesday 26 July 2011, 3:30pm - 4:50pm

LOCATION: BRIARCLIFF ROOM

Following an April strategy meeting convened by Friends of the Earth and the International Center for Technology Assessment, this session picked up on discussions about concrete strategies for mobilizing and messaging around gene patenting. Presentations focused on recent developments in the litigation and legislation around gene patenting, as well as on the challenges in framing and communicating the issues in different contexts and for diverse constituencies. Discussion followed, focusing on campaign updates and planning, developing strategies for broadening coalitions, and involving motivated participants in efforts already underway.
