I am a legal academic with a background in legal practice. I trained in international law and security studies and specialise in human rights, development, regulation of new biomedical and nuclear technologies, and intellectual property law. I am currently working on the themes of traditional knowledge, access to medicines and issues in property surrounding human genetic heritage and arms control law. My research focuses on the study of the impact of these thematic areas on the development of international law and I am also trying to develop a distinct voice for emerging economies in the field of international regulation in these respective areas.
