Tools for Success examines the tensions between western "self-made" culture, and family relationships and expectations. During and after the piece, one might consider the following questions. What are the ethical implications of adopting technology in a corporate world? What is the definition of success? 

 

Brendan Parent acted in several commercials and was a member of the Colony Theater while growing up in the Los Angeles area. In college at UC Santa Cruz, he wrote and performed material for student groups including Rape Prevention Education, Residence Life, Student Health Outreach Promotion, and Random with a Purpose (annual dance show). He is currently a 3rd year law student at Georgetown and a member of their Georgetown Gilbert and Sullivan Society, where he has played Romeo in Romeo and Juliet, and Puck in A Midsummer Night’s DreamTools for Success is his first of what will be several original pieces integrating critical engagement with genetic technologies and performance art.
