Communicating About Human Biotechnologies

Using my experience producing and screening the documentary film All in One Basket as a case study, I discussed what I have learned throughout my ongoing efforts to frame the subject of "egg donation" for various types of audiences, particularly those who are new to the topic or may never have considered some of the related ethical issues. I shared some of the successes and challenges I have encountered while trying to bring together and translate between multiple types of knowledge around the issue, and suggested ways that policy experts, scholars, and civil society leaders can work closer with independent media producers to create alternative media representations that communicate effectively to intended audiences.
