Spencer McFarlane is a rising 3L at Washington University School of Law in St. Louis, MO.  His concentrations are Bioethics Law and International Law.  During the summer of 2010, he trained future legal leaders with an NGO in Chiang Mai, Thailand. His work focused on intellectual property rights and their impact on public issues as well as developing training materials on HIV and Vietnamese HIV law as part of a UNAIDS project.  The following semester, he wrote a research paper under Prof. Rebecca Dresser on the globalization of biomedical research, focusing on the implications of placebo-controlled trials in developing countries.

 

He received his B.S. in Biology/Pre-Medicine from The Ohio State University in 2008. After earning his J.D. in 2012, he plans to attend medical school in pursuit of his J.D/M.D.
