ABOUT STEVE:

Steve May, President and Executive Director of The Forum on Genetic Equity comes to his new role with a wealth of both academic and applied experience. Steve holds Masters degrees in Political Science (University of Rhode Island – Kingston, RI) and Social Work (University of Vermont – Burlington, VT) Prior to coming to The Forum on Genetic Equity, Steve had been serving as Director of Public Policy for State Affairs at the Hemophilia Federation of America. In addition, to this most recent engagement, May has worked in a variety of positions at multiple health advocacy organizations, including the New England Hemophilia Association and National Association of Social Workers – Vermont Chapter. Moreover, Steve has amassed significant expertise as a clinician working in Community Mental Health across many diverse environments focusing on addiction work and crisis intervention. Steve also has considerable experience working in movement politics having previously served as Vice-President of the Champlain Valley Central Labor Council (Burlington, VT and environs) and a Former member of the Vermont AFL-CIO’s Executive Board.
