Trained as a global health policy analyst, Kari Points has worked for over a decade in human rights, LGBT and reproductive health and abortion policy and advocacy.  Prior to joining Ipas she consulted with UNICEF on intercountry adoption policy and with LGBT organizations in Zimbabwe, was a researcher at Duke University on government accountability, and has published on the ethical implications of new reproductive biotechnologies. At Ipas, Ms. Points works with local partners throughout Africa to advocate for women’s reproductive rights, with a focus on developing national and regional strategies for reform of restrictive abortion laws. She represents Ipas at global and regional UN conferences on human rights and development issues and works closely with NGO and government partners.  Kari holds a master’s degree in Public Policy from Duke University.

Ipas is a nonprofit organization that works around the world to increase women's ability to exercise their sexual and reproductive rights, and to reduce abortion-related deaths and injuries. We believe that women everywhere must have the opportunity to determine their futures, care for their families and manage their fertility.
