Professor Emilia Ianeva is born in Bulgaria and has J.D. and Ph.D. in International Law. For more than 15 years she has been teaching and doing research work in the United States at California State University East Bay and at the University of California, Berkeley.
Her expertise is in the field of human rights and humanitarian law. She has publications and has taught courses in Human Rights, Gender and Society, International Law and International Relations, World Problems and Global Response, World Development, Violence and Conflict, etc.
She is associated with the Alliance for Humane Biotechnology in California and has done research and consulting on the legislation and policies of the new genetic technologies in the countries of Eastern Europe, Russia and the United States.
Alliance for Humane Biotechnology is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation dedicated to raising public awareness about the social implications of genetic engineering and other biotechnological and reproductive technologies.
