Campaign Update

Campaigns to challenge gene patenting are at various stages in different regions of the world. This presentation discusses the key outcomes from a strategy meeting that occurred in April 2011 on building an international campaign to challenge gene patenting, as well as ways to strengthen efforts in the U.S. A recent campaign effort, made possible from this strategy meeting, to challenge a Trojan horse amendment on gene patents in the patent reform bill, was also discussed as well as lessons learned from this experience.
