The Charitable Trust as a Model for Genomic Biobanks
David E. Winickoff and Richard N. Winickoff
David Winickoff
2012

An analysis of ethical and legal problems with current genomic biobanking practices, especially at academic medical centers, and the proposal for a novel legal and ethical architecture designed to balance the interests of donor/participants with those of interests of resource managers and the broader public.

This model has been put into practice by the Michigan Dept of Public Health in setting up its dried blood spot collection for research, and by a biobanking project in Sardinia.
